VDH Forwarding & Warehousing & Melcombe Partners sign agreement for new logistics centre to be built.

VDH and Melcombe have signed an agreement for the development of a new distribution centre in Ridderkerk. The state-of-the-art building will be over 30,000 sq m in size and will feature fully refrigerated warehouse space for the storage and distribution of fresh produce. The building will feature the latest sustainability technologies so that VDH can serve its customers as green as possible in the field of sustainable storage and distribution. The premise is that the building meets the standards for a BREEAM Excellent label. VDH has made a long-term commitment to this development through a lease agreement.

Construction, carried out by Bouwbedrijf Fraanje, will start in July 2024 and be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025, after which VDH will move in immediately.

Martijn Heestermans of VDH: ‘We are very happy with this new building development. This will allow us to combine VDH’s activities at the existing locations in Moerdijk, Hazeldonk and Ridderkerk, allowing us to serve our customers even better’.
