Rotterdam Weena Zuid

Nexus Real Estate welcomes WTW as a new lessee in the Weena Building in Rotterdam.

Nexus Real Estate has signed a new long-term lease agreement with WTW (Willis Towers Watson) for approximately 655 m² of office space in the Weena Building at Weena Zuid 106-178 in Rotterdam. The international advisor and service provider in the field of risk, pension and health solutions will lease the space for a period of ten years, starting in February 2026.

This transaction follows shortly after the recently concluded agreement with 9Corporate, which once again attracted a leading organisation to this prominent office building.

‘The move to the Weena building strengthens our position in Rotterdam. The location in the bustling heart of the city is a boost to WTW’s leading position in the Netherlands and beyond. This new location gives us the space to continue to develop, connect and build a strong future,’ says Stefan Weda (Head of The Netherlands & Belgium) at WTW.

Lunchroom & Meeting Centre
In addition to the new leases, a large-scale renovation of the common areas on the ground floor and first floor of the Weena building will commence in January. A high-quality lunchroom will be created on the ground floor where lessees and visitors can meet. The first floor will feature a modern meeting centre that will be available to all tenants in the building. Both areas will be connected by a new staircase that will also serve as a grandstand during corporate events and presentations. These renovations reinforce the overall concept of the building as a high-quality, full-service work location in the heart of Rotterdam.

History & architecture
The Weena building is a striking office building from the 1960s, designed by the famous Rotterdam architect Huig Maaskant, known for icons such as the Groothandelsgebouw and De Euromast. Maaskant’s characteristic design language, with strong lines and a clear, modernist structure, forms the basis of the building’s identity.

The new lunchroom and facilities on the first floor were designed by the renowned architectural firm Graziosi Progetti. They have created a revamped look that is entirely in keeping with the spirit of the iconic 1960s, with a stylish nod to the world-famous American series “Mad Men” and entirely in line with Maaskant’s original design. This combines the rich history of the building with contemporary standards of comfort and design.

Nexus Real Estate was advised on this transaction by De Lobel & Partners – real estate experts, in collegial collaboration with De Mik Real Estate Partners. WTW was advised by CBRE. The Weena building is part of a larger real estate portfolio that has been managed by Nexus Real Estate on behalf of Tristan Capital Partners since 2019.
