Leased | Monumental office villa | Rotterdam

Housing developer Sustay is moving its office from Utrecht to Rotterdam. A monumental office villa at Museumpark 9, directly opposite Museum Boymans van Beuningen, was chosen for the accommodation.

The office building, known as ‘Huis Boevé,’ is a national monument built in 1932. The property, designed by Brinkman & Van der Vlugt architects, has a surface area of approximately 435 m² with on-site parking. The unique character of the property and also the dynamics of the location in the city centre helped determine the choice. The property became available unexpectedly as the current user, Handelsbanken, moved to the Maastoren due to growth.

Sustay started in 2014 and has since grown into a well-known player in the market. Sustay aims to provide as many households as possible with an affordable and sustainable home. “The times are challenging to say the least, which requires commitment, perseverance and a lot of inspiration to come up with solutions together with our employees, partners and investors. Museum Park 9 is in the middle of the city in an environment full of creativity, this is where we find inspiration and challenge.”

Sustay was advised in its search and in the tenancy process by De Lobel & Partners – Real Estate Experts. Departing tenant Handelsbanken was advised by Schol Vastgoed Advies, which also advised it in the relocation process. The landlord, a private investor, was advised by Parc Makelaars.
